Anne Heche and Ellen DeGeneres had dated for a long time in the past, which was reflected by the actress recently on Dancing With the Stars. The 51-year-old actress spoke about her romance with the 62-year-old comedian during the reality TV show's elimination day.

The former couple dated each other for three years when they first met in 1997. The actress recalled how she fell in love with The Ellen DeGeneres Show host and how she was told to stay away from her; otherwise, she might lose her contract with Fox.

Heche explained that it happened during the Volcano movie premiere, where she wanted to take DeGeneres along as a date. She further revealed that the comedian asked her to follow whatever they say rather than taking her to the premiere.

However, the actress refused to leave DeGeneres and eventually "ushered out" from the event. She was also asked to stay away from the after-party because they feared Heche would get clicked with a lady. She addressed the entire scenario as "unbelievable" while she admitted that DeGeneres already warned her that it would happen, but she didn't see it coming.

The actress further said that she dated the comedian for over three years, and she couldn't believe how her life changed. The stigma everyone in the entertainment industry attached to the couple turned out to be extremely bad. As a result, the actress got fired from her multi-million-dollar movie contract.

Moreover, she didn't even work with any studio for over ten years. Her story moved the judges on the show, and received praise from them. She performed Paso Doble that evening with Keo Motsepe on Katy Perry's Rise.

Bruno Tonioli applauded the actress and said that he deeply admires what she has done while addressing her as a "multicolored warrior."The 64-year-old judge further said that this was one of the most engrossing performances to date.

However, Tonioli noted that the dancing couple made a few mistakes. Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough also praised Heche as they garnered 21 points out of 30. In response to the points, Heche said that she feels "redeemed" as she was placed last week in the bottom two.

Before the episode went on air, Heche teased her fans on social media and revealed that she would be talking about LGBTQ rights and how it had a great impact on her career.
