Prince William is, allegedly, defying Queen Elizabeth by following in Prince Charles’ footsteps.

In the documentary Prince William: A Planet For Us All, Prince William talked about the growing environmental threat to the planet.

While speaking with David Attenborough, the Duke of Cambridge said that he’s always been fascinated with nature and the planet.

“I’ve always loved nature… but fatherhood has given me a new sense of purpose,” William says in the first-look promo. Now I’ve got George, Charlotte, and now Louis in my life, your outlook on life does change. You want to hand over the wildlife in a much better condition,” he said.

Prince William, reportedly, traveled to Tanzania and Pakistan over the course of the past couple of years, where he identified the effects of climate change. He also said that one of the most alarming sites he’s seen as the effects of climate change on glaciers in Pakistan.

The Duke of Cambridge, reportedly, referred to the glacier crisis as a huge environmental and humanitarian disaster. But the second in line to the throne said that there is still hope for the future.

Attenborough also talked about nature and the planets and said that kids these days know a lot of things about what’s happening to the world. The two men also discussed the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the nation.

“I've been really heartened by what I've been hearing from other people and how they've decided to appreciate nature and experience it and see all the things that they never thought they would. Someone has to put their head above the parapet and say, I care about this… to have the belief that if we all work together, we can make a difference,” he said.

But according to New Idea, Prince William’s concerns for the environment and the planet means that he’s defying the queen just like his dad. After all, Prince Charles has been very vocal about his concerns with climate change.

As members of the royal family, Prince Charles and Prince William are not allowed to speak about controversial topics such as religion and politics. However, it is unclear if they are also banned from talking about the climate and the environment.
