David Attenborough recently gave Prince George a special present.

Prince William and Kate Middleton shared details of the present on their Instagram account and said that Attenborough surprised their son with a tooth from a giant shark, also known as carcharocles megalodon or big tooth.

“Sir David found the tooth on a family holiday to Malta in the late 1960s, embedded in the island’s soft yellow limestone which was laid down during the Miocene period some 23 million years ago. Carcharocles is believed to have grown to 15 meters in length, which is about twice the length of the Great White, the largest shark alive today,” Prince William and Middleton said in a statement.

While speaking with The Times, Attenborough said that he wanted to give the present to Prince George because when he was his age, he was also given fossils by the grownups.

Attenborough revealed that Prince George was quite inquisitive about the present because he kept asking him questions.

“[George asked] What it was? How big it was? And so on. He was certainly very interested. He seemed to like it. He is very interested in fossils. She [Charlotte] was too. All three seemed charming,” he said.

Following the engagement, Prince William and Middleton shared adorable photos of themselves with their kids and Attenborough on Instagram. The snap snows the entire Cambridge family wearing a color-coordinated outfit.

In fact, upon closer inspection, it also became evident that Prince George and Prince Louise wore matching polo shirts. Prince Louis just covered his polo shirt with a blue knitted sweater.

Prince George also wore pants during the outing, but his younger brother wore shorts. When Prince George was much younger, he used to also wear shorts. But as part of the royal family’s tradition, Prince George can start wearing pants in public the minute he turned 7 years old.

Princess Charlotte, on the other hand, wore a long-sleeved dress to the outing. She also had a clip on her hair to keep them neat.

It is also evident that Prince William and Middleton’s three children have grown considerably this past summer.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Middleton revealed their desire to protect the natural world after they met with Attenborough.

“With a shared passion for protecting the natural world, [Wills and David] continue to support one another in their missions to tackle some of the biggest environmental challenges our planet faces. This includes working together on The @EarthshotPrize, the most prestigious global environment prize in history – further details of which will be shared in the coming weeks,” they said.
