Prince Charles, reportedly, planned on relocating to Italy with Camilla Parker Bowles decades ago.

In 1995, Newsweek published a story on the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, revealing their plans for the future. A source told the publication that Princess Diana was convinced that her ex-husband and Camilla were planning on leaving the United Kingdom.

“If she could write her own script, the princess would like Charles to go off with Camilla and fulfill his private ambition of owning a farm in Tuscany, leaving Diana to groom William for the throne,” the source said.

The insider also said that the Princess of Wales always believed that Prince Charles will never become king because he’s not suited for the top job.

“She believes, and her personal astrologers agree, that Charles will never become king and that William is the one who will succeed Queen Elizabeth after her death,” the source said.

Another insider for New Idea recently commented on the report saying that it’s not unlikely for Prince Charles to have planned to leave the United Kingdom with Camilla.

“This is absolutely not out of the realm of possibility for Charles. He is becoming increasingly frustrated by being the longest-serving King-in-waiting in history and is rather hoping to relax in his twilight years. As the years have gone by, he’s become even more obsessed with his gardening – and Tuscany would sound excellent to him right now,” the source said.

Prince Charles wouldn’t, allegedly, feel guilty for leaving Prince William and Kate Middleton back in the United Kingdom because they have already proven themselves time and again. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are, reportedly, ready to step up to the plate at any given time.

Meanwhile, Prince Charles also made headlines this week after it was revealed that he was raised a very difficult nanny when he was a kid.

In the book, Long Live the Queen! 13 Rules for Living From Britain’s Longest Reigning Monarch, royal author Bryan Kozlowski revealed that nanny Helen Lightbody was fired after she overruled the queen.

“It's said [Lightbody] took pleasure in tormenting the Palace kitchen with her exacting standards. Dishes for young Prince Charles were constantly being refused or remade based on little more than Nanny Lightbody's personal whims. The Queen eventually had enough and fired her,” he said.
