Taichi and his friends are cornered as Tokyo prepares for its destruction in Digimon Adventure Episode 18. The new installment is called Countdown to Tokyo’s Destruction.

The official preview trailer for Digimon Adventure Episode 18 has been unveiled teasing the Chosen Ones in great danger. The trailer also showcases a new dangerous Digimon.

“The Chosen Ones are cornered. The destinies of their younger siblings in Tokyo begin to unravel. Next time on Digimon Adventure: Countdown to Tokyo’s Annihilation,” reads the preview for the upcoming episode.

Apart from the trailer, the makers also released a synopsis and Twitter user Wikimon shared the translation of Digimon Adventure Episode 18’s summary.

The synopsis hints that after defeating Orochimon, a mysterious countdown kicks in alerting the heroes. The countdown starts in real Tokyo as well. The electronic devices start to malfunction in the city.

In the meantime, Taichi and company are confronted by an Ultimate Digimon that evolved from Orochimon – Nidhoggmon. They later learn that the countdown is linked to Nidhoggmon and once the countdown reaches zero, Tokyo will be destroyed.

In the meantime, Taichi and his comrades are no match to this new Ultimate’s ferocious attacks. Elsewhere, there is a weird reaction within Takeru and Hikari in the Real World.

In the previous episode of the series, Orochimon, an Ultimate Digimon, appears in front of Taichi and the others. Orochimon is an eight-headed Digimon and extremely powerful.

Orochimon is sending a strong electromagnetic pulse and it results in disruption of power in the Real World. Orochimon attacks and Taichi and other’s Digimon try to fight the attack. Agumon and Gomamon are badly injured after the attack from Orochimon.

Taichi announces that they should retreat and deal with this threat later. However, it is quite difficult amid the attacks.

Digimon Adventure Episode 18 is set to hit the airwaves on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020. The episodes currently streaming on Crunchyroll for online viewing.
