Actress Kim Cattrall revealed her excitement to contribute to the process of a democratic election. The 64-year-old actress appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan and said that she disclosed that the only reason she became an American citizen is to vote during the elections.

Cattrall is currently quarantined with her boyfriend, Russell Thomas in Vancouver, said that reason was pretty specific for returning back to New York City last month. The actress further explained the process of earning citizenship in America being a British-born Canadian-American.

She said one has to give six answers right out of ten in order to process the entire citizenship test. However, she noted that the test wasn't easy and one has to study to pass. The Big Trouble in Little China star said that she did pass the test and then also took an oath.

“I was so emotional. I was verklempt. I didn’t expect that reaction. The officer who sent me through, she said, ‘You know, some people don’t take this as seriously and I was really touched at how emotional it was for [you],'" she explained.

Cattrall who was originally born and raised in England's Liverpool had her family moved to Canada. The actress revealed that she was barely a three-month-old toddler when she came to Canada. However, she kept going back and forth from Canada to New York City in order to earn her first acting gig at the age of 16.

In order to stay close to her family and close friends, Cattrall decided to spend most time of the quarantine in Canada. She explained that her mother is a senior's facility and that's the reason her boyfriend and her wanted to stay around her mother, in case, there is anything her mother needs.

The actress also mentioned the scary time in April when the couple left New York City and moved to Canada. The Cattrall recalled that it was painful to see so many cases while she considers herself lucky enough to stay safe and get out of the place before they were contracted.

The actress spoke from her living room during the interview and the hosts, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest could be seen maintaining a safe distance between them as they were present in the same room. Cattrall mentioned in the virtual interview that the pandemic has hit hard in many ways and she hopes everything gets normal soon.
