Success wasn't a smooth ride for Lady Gaga as she revealed her suicidal thoughts attached to it. The singer and actress opened up about her success and the burden it brought along.

The 34-year-old multi-talented star appeared on Sunday Morning show on CBS and disclosed details following A Star Is Born and Joanne. While both the record was smashing hit on the charts, Gaga was flooded with several nominations and awards.

Meanwhile, Gaga was overwhelmed by the attention she received on daily basis. The star explained that it became difficult for her to step out for regular grocery shopping or even having personal time with family and friends at restaurants or cafes.

The singer explained that wherever she headed, fans kept pounding on her. Gaga confessed that she completely "gave up" on herself and started to hate every bit of being popular and dealing with stardom. She admitted feeling "used up" and drained out.

The singer remembered the moment when she looked at the musical instruments that she has been practicing on for years and yelled at them for being responsible to ruin her life. In fact, Gaga recalled considering the piano her "biggest enemy".

She further revealed that Joanne turned out to be the primary challenge for her as she was trying to fix her father's trauma through it. Gaga said that gradually her father's trauma turned into her own. However, she failed to fix the wounds of her father but the album became a huge hit. Although the singer kept struggling behind the scenes.

"It’s not always easy, if you have mental issues, to let other people see. I used to self-harm. I used to say, ‘Look. I cut myself. See, I’m hurt,’ because I didn’t think anyone could see because, mental health, it’s invisible,” Gaga explained her experience while dealing with the mental health issues.

Moreover, the Always Remember Us This Way star assumed that her professional life is going to be over soon. The singer said that she had no reason to live rather than being with her family. The constant question in Gaga's head was why should she stay around and when the interviewer asked if she wanted to commit suicide, the star immediately answered, yes.

She revealed that there were people close to her who kept an eye on her to ensure that she is safe. The latest album dropped by the star Chromatica earlier this year, mentioned her struggles in tracks such as 1000 Doves and 911.
