Queen Elizabeth recently congratulated Kate Middleton over the success of her Hold Still photography competition.

In a statement she released, the queen said that the photos captured the resilience of Britons during such a challenging time.

Prior to their release, Middleton showed the photos to the queen during her visit to Balmoral.

“It was with great pleasure that I had the opportunity to look through a number of the portraits that made the final 100 images for the Hold Still photography competition. The Duchess of Cambridge and I were inspired to see how the photographs have captured the resilience of British people as such a challenging time, whether that is through celebrating frontline workers, recognizing community spirit, or showing the efforts of individuals supporting those in need,” the queen said.

She also sent her well-wishes and congratulations to everyone who submitted a portrait to the project. Kensington Palace also released a statement regarding Middleton’s successful photography competition.

“The images present a unique record of history, conveying humor and grief, creativity and kindness, tragedy and hope,” the palace said.

Meanwhile, the queen has been praising for Middleton for stepping up to the plate as a member of the royal family. Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Megxit, there were claims that Prince William and Middleton will be given more workload.

And if this is really the case, it seems that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are able to deliver. Earlier this year, a source told Us Weekly that the queen is thrilled with how Prince William and Middleton are handling their royal duties.

“The wonderful thing about William and Kate is that they remain focused and calm even during their most challenging times. She couldn’t be prouder. She takes pride in being on top of everything but recognizes that it’s time to hand off some responsibility,” the source said.

Last month, Middleton was also praised for getting on with the business of the monarchy after a slew of scandals plagued the British clan.

On the Pod Save the Queen podcast, editor Russell Myers praised the future queen for doing what all the other members of the royal family should be doing.

“It’s kind of like, away from all these headlines, away from Andrew, Ghislaine Maxwell, Finding Freedom, away from all this, this is the business of monarchy. This is what we expect them to be doing. It’s without fanfare, it’s just something that she’s been working on behind the scenes. And I know that Harry and Meghan have been doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes and we’re definitely going to be hearing a lot more about stuff they’ve been doing with the Black Lives Matter movement,” he said.
