Joe Biden was lauded for appointing Kamala Harris his running mate earlier this year, as the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants broke historic barriers in the ivory tower of Congress. Proving to be a great choice, the U.S. Senator has taken effective jabs at Donald Trump and his aides.

Keeping in line with that, the Democratic vice presidential nominee raised concerns over Russia interference in the impending election, indicating that it could theoretically cost Democrats the presidential elections. She claimed that Russia interfered in the election in the United States in 2016, during an interview with CNN.

Harris serves on the Senate Intelligence Committee that has published comprehensive reports about what it thinks happened. She went on to suggest that there will be foreign interference in the election this year as well, with Russia at the front of the line.

Harris made these remarks while responding to a question on the allegations of Russian interference in the presidential elections. "Theoretically, of course, yes," when she was asked whether or not the foreign interference could cost them the White House.

While responding to another question, Harris said there is classic voter suppression at play in the 2020 election, where, after the Supreme Court introduced the Voting Rights Act with Shelby v. Holder in 2013, several states passed laws to quell the black vote, restrict students and indigenous people from voting.

At the time, a court of appeals in North Carolina admitted that the law was passed to stop black voters from voting. Harris described this as a case of "classic voter suppression" and insisted that the 2016 election was plagued with foreign interference.

Taking a jab at Trump, she said that America has a president who is bent on convincing the American people that the mail-in system is subject to fraud, suggesting that their votes might not actually count. Harris said she and Biden realize that until they can win and get in and make Voting Rights Act stronger, and regain the public's confidence in the system, that there will be several obstacles that some people are deliberately placing in front of Americans who are willing to vote.

Noting that she and Joe are realistic about the foreign interference in the impending election, Harris said they will surpass, rise above, and conquer those obstacles. Trump has also accused China of supporting Biden's presidential bid in the wake of him trying to hold them responsible for the still raging coronavirus pandemic and the downswing in the country's economy.
