Kodak Black couldn't wish Zendaya a "Happy 24th Birthday" in person, so he arranged for an Instagram surprise instead. On a video, last Sept. 1, a grand bouquet of black balloons was released into the air shared on the rapper's Instagram account, with a special shout-out to the Euphoria star.

"Happy Birthday [party emojis] @zendaya," Kodak wrote, alongside hashtags #24 Balloons for #24 years.

Fans piled into the comments section, unsure if Kodak was making a  try to flirt or be pleasant.

"My guys locked up and were still shooting his shot," one fan commented, whereas others left feedback like "I'm confused" and "You're a good friend Kodak."

Kodak Black is an American hip-hop recording artist. He began rapping at the young age of 12, joining a local group named Brutal Youngnz, shortly before deciding to embark upon a solo career.

The rapper was even featured on French Montana's single 'Lockjaw' in 2016, before landing a spot on XXL Magazine's Top Ten Freshman List. His first lead single made him secure a place on Billboard for the Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles chart.

Kodak has been sentenced to three years and eight months in prison after pleading guilty in August last year to two counts of knowingly making a false written statement connected with the acquisition of a firearm. After his sentencing, a message appeared on Kodak's Instagram account.

The post featured two photos potentially taken while behind bars with a caption that reads: "Hold It Down While I'm On Lock.

Kodak, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was arrested at Rolling Loud, in Miami, for lying about his criminal record while purchasing or trying to purchase six pistols on two separate occasions at Lou's Police and Security Equipment in Hialeah, Florida.

He has been arrested seven times, including in April 2019, a month before this latest crime, for allegedly attempting to cross the US/Canada border with a firearm. The judge denied his request for bail and called him a danger to the community.

For the time being, Zendaya has yet to respond to Kodak's birthday wish. She already responded to Beyonce's greeting, where the 'Halo' singer wished her a happy birthday with a throwback photo. The actress felt very happy to receive birthday wishes from the singing diva.

Back to Kodak, this isn't the first time the rapper shot his shot at Zendaya. Before this incident, he posted a Valentine's Day poem dedicated to 'The Greatest Showman' star. It reads, "Zoolin in an ice box, frozen in time. But mentally, you're my Valentine. Hope I made you smile with this poem. I'm thinking 'bout you all the way home.
