The U.S. is in a state of turmoil. The disturbances caused by protests and clashes have overshadowed the much-needed attention on pandemic management. Amid the growing number of killings and collisions in the country, like many Americans, presidential candidate Joe Biden has deeply condemned the violence across the US.

Unfortunately, President Donald Trump is being blamed for inciting them. For somebody who is helming the country, this should be way more important than elections, campaigns, or the race for the title - but this is not the case.

The blames and allegations have not only been made by the opposite party members and those who have an aversion towards Trump’s policies but this time - it’s Trump’s own team member who is highly critical of how the President is steering the country through this time of crisis.

Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security in counter-terrorism would be focused on Islamic extremism, department-member Elizabeth Neuman believed at the time she was going to join the department. But the times have changed dramatically. Neuman said that it was around 2018 that the “blip” began coming to realization.

Violence within the country is the main threat facing the population and the future of the country. According to the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, far-right members are behind two-thirds of the terrorist movements in the country in the last year. This year, between January and May 8 – right extremists are the reason for over 90% of the riots in the country.

According to Neuman, it’s very tough to combat White nationalism, when one belongs to the administration that is behind encouraging them.

Speaking about how the Trump administration is handling these important issues, Neuman said, “They were talking to us going: ‘Hey, you guys are the exporters here. You need to do something about this. It’s not just the president, it’s the entire Republican Party right now, kind of implying that we’ve got to take matters into our own hands and seek law and order.”

On the other hand, President’s opponent Joe Biden has shown empathy towards people who have had to suffer due to the ongoing violence in the States. In addition to that, Biden has openly despised Trump’s overall management of the nation through the entire period of crisis – be it coronavirus, or highly disturbing riots. But that's not all - there is more for leaders to understand.

The question is: How far is it going to go?  Stopping should be the first priority.
