On Sunday, Donald Trump expressed his thoughts about the outgoing Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

In the late night tweet, President chose words of nothing but praise for Abe, "Shinzo will soon be recognized as the greatest Prime Minister in the history of Japan, whose relationship with the USA is the best it has ever been. Special man.”

The tweet sums it all. President’s generous gesture for the Prime Minister displays country’s good relations with Japan and  Abe’s genial approach towards foreign relations.

Last week, Abe announced that he was stepping down as the Prime Minister of Japan following long-term illness. With the news, Abe’s record-breaking tenure as Japan’s longest-serving PM has come to an end.

Donald Trump is not the only one who has got words of honor for Abe. Leaders and officials of many countries from various parts of the world have heaped loads of praise on Abe. Leaders and officials from China, Germany, Britain, Philliphines, South Korea, and Taiwan have also said words of admiration on Abe’s retirement.

In addition to leaders, the social media posts of citizens of Japan also suggest that Abe is one of the profound Japanese leaders. Throughout his run of eight long years, the graph of public poll in favor of Abe was always at heights. Although people were really critical of Abe’s way of approaching the pandemic, his popularity among Japan’s entire population is still uncomparable.

Donald Trump and Abe have met multiple times during throughout his tenure as the President. This is a really “unprecedented” relationship between the two of the biggest economies and the “golf buddies.”

Last year in September, Trump announced that America would enter into new trade deals with Japan and that came after a year of negotiations between the global economic powers.

Among Asian nations, America is in good terms with most except China. President Trump recently visited India before the pandemic hit and said he would like to take the relationship between the two nations to another level. In addition to that, Trump also said that he is the best one India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ever had as a friend.

On one side, Shinzo Abe has stepped down, on the other, Trump’s biggest political challenge awaits in the form of 2020 presidential elections. The tough competition between Trump and Biden has only gotten tougher in recent days – and now both the parties are coming up with an extension of their campaigns.
