Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are now 94 and 99, respectively. And it seems that they are both healthy and well despite their old age.

While speaking with Woman UK, Dr. Anna Hemming, a former in-house doctor at Buckingham Palace revealed some of the royal couple’s secrets to staying healthy.

“They lead a healthy and active lifestyle and enjoy exercise. Her Majesty drinks plenty of water and keeps hydrated. Plus, she and Philip have got good, proper food coming in,” she said.

Even though Hemming wasn’t the one that prepared the royal couple’s food, she is aware that they exercise portion control. This way, they are never too full and their diets don’t change drastically.

Other than their food and exercise, the queen and the Duke of Edinburgh also has access to the best doctors and medical care. And they are also closely monitored by their physicians.

“They have the support of some fantastic teams behind them. Obviously, they have annual medical checks, but to be quite honest with you, they are incredibly healthy anyway,” she said.

On top of all these, the queen and Prince Philip also love what they do. And this, according to the physician, is very important.

“The queen and Philip love what they do. And if you are happy with your work and you enjoy what you do, then your brain is going to be stimulated. If you love what you do, you’re going to keep everything active,” she said.

However, even though the queen and Prince Philip are healthy and doing well, some tabloids have been saying that it’s only a matter of time before they die.

In January, National Enquirer claimed that a dying Prince Philip gave the queen a dire warning about their son, Prince Andrew. The dad of four, allegedly, urged the queen to cut ties with the Duke of York.

Another tabloid also claimed that the queen collapsed. And more recently, one tabloid claimed that the queen suffered a stroke. However, none of these things happened.

And as mentioned earlier, the queen and Prince Philip are still very healthy for their age. They recently traveled to Balmoral after quarantining at Windsor Castle from March to July amid the coronavirus pandemic.
