Tom Cruise lost his cool when Peter Overton, a Channel Nine journalist queried him about his former wife Nicole Kidman around 15 years ago.

The Top Gun actor was interviewed by the journalist, which lasted for one hour. The 58-year-old actor appeared to lose his temper and told the host that he was stepping over the line.

Overton recalled the strained interview recently and told KIIS-FM on how he kept his calm despite the actor’s behavior. He explained to the Mission Impossible actor that he did not think it was an unfair question to ask.

The show was called 60 minutes and Overton's encounter with the Hollywood A-lister was aired in 2005. The 54-year-old journalist recently revealed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that he has no regrets about asking the question about the actor’s marriage to Nicole Kidman.

The journalist added that he thought it was a relevant question as Nicole Kidman was his childhood friend and have known her for several years now.  The Mummy actor and the Bombshell actress got married in 1990 but parted ways in 2001.

The Hollywood hunk seems to dislike talking about his relationship with his former wife. The actor appeared to have got frustrated when Peter Overton steered the interview towards his personal life and even told the latter to get back his manners.

Kylie Sandilands, the radio host asked him what his thinking was then as he was being admonished on camera by the actor. Overton said he did not lose his cool and thought it was a pertinent question.

The journalist further said that he did not nurture any ill-feeling towards the Hollywood hunk but was taken aback at the latter’s response. He even tried to calm the actor down once the interview got over, Daily Mail reports.

He asked the producer how the show went and was kind of stunned at the response. He replied: “Top five” meaning it went extremely well. The producer was visualizing the promos like they usually do.

In other news, Tom Cruise has been shooting with a parachute for his upcoming seventh installment of Mission Impossible when a mishap occurred. A source told the Sun that the unfortunate incident suggested things went terribly wrong.

While no one was injured in that risky shot, Tom Cruise is, allegedly, upset as it can trigger a big delay in the film’s production. The source added though no one was hurt, the mishap might prove to be immensely costly for the production team and no one wants any further delay.
