The 28-year-old songstress now turned makeup mogul Selena Gomez has earned a desired spot in Steve Martina and Martin Short's newest comedy television series. The "Wizards of Waverly Place" actress will star alongside the iconic and legendary comedians in Hulu's upcoming sitcom series entitled "Only Murders in the Building." The vast announcement delighted Selena's fans over their idol's long-awaited television comeback. Hulu did the honor of breaking the news on August 7 (Friday).

"Only Murders in the Building's" story plot will go on with three principal characters of the story, namely Short, Martin, and Gomez. According to TV Line, the trio shares a passionate obsession over real crime scenarios, making them delighted to be tied up in one.

The "A Year Without Rain" singer will also act as an executive producer on the said comedy master class on the same plane as "Only Murders in the Building" curators Steve Martin and John Hoffman, who is also responsible for "Looking" and "Grace & Frankie." Supplementary executive producers are Short and the Jess Rosenthal and Dan Fogelman "This Is Us" doubleton.

As per NME, the premiere date of Gomez's forthcoming comedy series is still unknown, the revelation of further details is up in the coming weeks.

Gomez has starred in numerous films and series since her debut in Disney Channel as a child star. Her debut and breakout role is as a young witch on Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place" sitcom. Other series and films Gomez led are "Princess Protection Program," "Another Cinderella Story," "Spring Breakers," "Monte Carlo," "The Dead Don't Die," "The Fundamentals of Caring," and "A Rainy Day in New York." The American songstress also acted upon Netflix's controversial "13 Reasons Why" teen series as an executive producer, which concluded in June.

Aside from starring in the forthcoming "Only Murders in the Building" show, the "Rare Beauty" CEO will headline her cooking show called "Selena + Chef," airing on HBO Max. The actress's upcoming cooking show rolled videos for ten episodes that will kick off on August 13 (Thursday).

For the time being, the singer started a fundraising event last July 25 for the benefit of "underserved communities" that badly need mental health services. Gomez launched the "Rare Impact Fund" under her newly launched cosmetics line called "Rare Beauty," inspired by her recent "Rare" album. Gomez and "Rare Beauty" glazes to collect the sum of $100 million in ten years by donating $1 of each product's sale.
