Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge is reputed to be one of the most fashionably-charged lady royals. The Duchess’ choice of dresses, colors, and tiaras is undoubtedly the next level – may even be the reason for envy among ladies in the royal clan. However, on an upcoming event, subject to how situations go, Middleton may be donning a crown that’s infamous as cursed.

The coronation will take place only if Prince William succeeds the Queen and Prince Charles to the throne.  If everything goes well for the Prince, the Duchess of Cambridge will have a new title, the Queen Consort.

Kate Middleton joined the royal family in 2011 – it’s obvious that the Duchess must have collected a good amount of royal jewelry, gowns, and much more. And upon her coronation, she may make a good addition to her collection of crowns, at the same time, she may not want to be the next owner of the masterpiece crown.

According to French magazine Gala, it is very likely that the Duchess will go for late Queen Elizabeth’s crown which was last seen during her funeral procession in the year 2002. There is nothing that can link the crown to any kind of curse, however, there is an element in the structure that doesn't have a very pleasant history.

The infamous crown features Koh-i-noor diamond which has long been a reason for dispute between India and the UK. The diamond was brought to the UK after Queen Victoria annexed the region of Punjab, a state in India. The ship hauling the jewel to the UK suffered an uncommon outburst of cholera. Rumor had it that it was the curse of Koh-i-noor diamond that caused the outbreak of cholera that rendered several Englishmen in a critical situation.

The diamond’s lethal reputation is also based on the mysterious and atrocious deaths of many who owned it. It is believed that several owners of the jewel died under unexplainable circumstances.

In addition to all information, the most frightening one comes from the Hindu scripture dating back to Koh-i-noor’s origin. According to the text, the diamond may belong to women or god - but in case, a man claims the ownership of diamond, it may only end up in devastating consequences.

It’ll solely be Kate’s decision if she wants to wear the crown or not. The crown has always been the pride of lady royals, so Kate may not want to miss the opportunity. Truly one of a kind, the crown boasts a total of 2800 diamonds including the Koh-i-noor which sits and shines at the top.
