Folklore is out! Taylor Swift released her new studio album. The star announced the album a few hours ago before she dropped out the entire album. Along with the eighth album, Swift launched a music video called Cardigan.

This new music video is part of the album which is written and directed by the 30-year-old Swift. The singer revealed that the entire filming of the music video was supervised by medical professionals. During the shoot, everybody maintained the required distance, Swift did her own hair, styling, and makeup. Most importantly, everyone had their masks on.

"The song is about a lost romance and why young love is often fixed so permanently within our memories. Why it leaves such an indelible mark," Swift explained for fans pondering what influenced her to make Cardigan.

Swift surprised fans on July 23 with Folklore on social media. The star posted a bunch of photos along with a caption that disclosed her summer plans. The singer said that she planned many things for summer 2020 which didn't take place.

However, there is one thing that happened without any planning involved. Swift indicated towards her new album and said that all the songs available in the album were written in isolation due to ongoing pandemic.

Swift revealed that her new album has songs in which she did gush her musings, dreams, whims, and fears. The singer admitted the fact that if the COVID-19 situation wasn't there then she would have given a lot of thoughts in choosing a release date for her brand new album.

Just like every other celebrity wants to find a perfect time for their work to be released but this time is different and Swift understands that. Swift addressed her fans and said that the time everybody is experiencing, nothing can be pledged on a specific date.

The Live from Clear Channel Stripped 2008 star further said that her gut feeling is that if something is made with love then it is supposed to be delivered to the world. The latest album released has a standard edition that allows you to enjoy 16 songs.

However, one day after the singer released the physical deluxe editions that have an additional song named The Lakes. Folklore is created in a collaboration with Jack Antonoff, Aaron Dessner, and Bon Iver. The superstar considers all of these celebs as her "musical heroes". Swift also mentioned William Bowery on social media as a co-writer for two tracks in the album.
