Angelina Jolie simply could not stop gushing about her daughter Zahara in a recent interview. The actress admitted to having learned a lot from her daughter.

The Salt actress said she is proud of Zahara’s African origin while speaking to Vanessa Nakate, a climate activist in Uganda. Angie adopted her Ethiopian daughter when she was barely 6-month-old. 

 

the activist and Jolie discussed the Black Lives Matter movement at length. The actress spoke about her daughter in that context. She confessed to having learned a lot from her daughter who is originally from Ethiopia. 

 

While the actress reiterated that Zahara is very much a part of her family, she added what an extraordinary African woman her teenage daughter is. Angie acknowledged that she is completely in awe of her daughter’s connection to her nation and Africa. 

 

However, Jolie feels that history books in the United States are quite limited. The Maleficent actress feels the textbooks in the country start from the wrong place while giving information about the Black people. Most books begin from the Civil Rights Movement, which according to Jolie is a “horrible” place to start from, Hindustan Times reports.

 

Angelina Jolie’s remarks came into the spotlight just one day after her former spouse Brad Pitt was snapped leaving her mansion. Incidentally, it was the Troy actor’s second visit to her home in a fortnight. 

 

Reports have it that the exes are enjoying a better relationship now as compared to their extremely hostile split four years ago. An insider claimed that it took them quite some time to reach this point and they even had to go through plenty of family therapies.
