Prince William, reportedly, wants Prince Charles to be king and not him.

In recent months, there have been rumors suggesting that Prince William could bypass his dad for the throne. However, this is unlikely to happen.

While speaking with Fox News, royal commentator Nick Bullen said that royal fans can speculate all they want but Prince William will never leapfrog Prince Charles for the throne.

When Queen Elizabeth passes away, Prince Charles will ascend the throne. That is if he’s still alive by then. And if he is, the queen would want Prince Charles to be king and Prince William also wants to see his father as the king of Britain.

As for the Duke of Cambridge, he’s reportedly not in a rush to be king. Since Prince William is a traditionalist, he doesn’t like breaking the rules of the pecking order.

And since the only way for him to be king is if both his grandmother and father are dead, Prince William wouldn’t want to rush such things.

“It is this weird thing you have with royals. I spoke to the Prince of Wales about this - to get that top job, you are essentially wishing your parent or grandparent to be dead. But you’re in no rush to get that job because for Charles to be King his mother would have to die, for William to be King his father would have to die - nobody wants that. It’ll happen in due course and William is in no rush for it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prince William also made headlines this week amid claims that he and Kate Middleton don’t view themselves as celebrities.

In the documentary Prince William: A Monarch In the Making, Bullen said that the joy of royalty and British royalty, in particular, is that they don’t see themselves as celebrities.

Most celebrities crave fame, and some of them gain a huge following because of their acting skills and connections. But members of the royal family are already well-known from the beginning. And this kind of fame is something that they cannot escape from.

Bullen also said that unlike Hollywood stars, royals are global celebrities from the moment that they are born. This is how Prince William and Prince Harry lived for as long as he could remember.

And for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, their duty always comes first.
