"Ice Ice Baby" artist Vanilla Ice was tugged on Twitter after announcing his 4th of July concert amid the state’s surge of coronavirus cases. The rapper announced his “Independence Day Throwback Beach Party” on June 24.

“Get ready to go back to The 90s, the greatest decade ever," he said. He even stirred the concert goers to bring their dancing shoes, bikinis, ninja turtle gears, and neon colored apparels.

As per HollywoodLife, the rapper’s post is one quite of an indication that he is not paying attention to the fact that the COVID-19 cases continue to spike in the city. The deadly virus, in fact, has taken more than 2,000 lives in Texas alone.

Vanilla Ice is throwing his concert at the Emerald Point Bar & Grill in Austin, Texas on Independence Day and is currently selling 2,500 tickets – price ranges to $25-$300, according to Austin Chronicle.

Texas is one of the four states with the highest reported cases of COVID-19 in the United States – having 8,076 new cases the same day the rapper announced his concert, which led for the people to question Vanilla Ice, throwing a concert amid the pandemic.

One Twitter user called the rapper "dumb af" in a tweet.

HollywoodLife reported that Vanilla Ice’s fans couldn’t hold on to the fact that the rapper couldn’t just read between the lines, considering that Governor Greg Abbott has already ordered all bars to be closed and restaurants to reduce capacity to 50%, which also led for other events and festivals to be cancelled.

Well, the venue of the concert unbacked the "ordered to be closed" by the governor, having a valid reason to it. Lake Travis, the concert’s location, is a multi-level marina establishment and is classified as a restaurant because 51% of its earnings are from their food sales. Therefore, pushing through the concert is a big YES.

Meanwhile, Emerald Point, also, made it to the headlines in May when local rock band posted a photo of its thick audience not wearing masks cheering for LC Rock. As what Austin Chronicle reported, the organizer of the event noted that the said restaurant passed the checklist from the Fire Marshall and Travis County Sheriff’s Office in making the event happen.

#IMissThenineties is the hashtag used by Vanilla Ice on a throwback clip he shared on his Instagram on June 28. It seems like the rapper is still on a 90s cloud-nine! Vanilla Ice wrote on his post about how life is more fun in the 90s having Beavis and Butthead, Wayne’s world, Jackie Chan, and Chris Tucker compared to the present times of fun and dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
