Miley Cyrus, in a blunt interview with Variety’s podcast “The Big Ticket”, opened up on deciding on being sober right after undergoing a vocal cord surgery. She, also, revealed details about the demand and pressure of being a young artist.

After her stunt on Instagram Live where she hosted her own talk show called “Bright Minded” with guests – Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Kerry Washington and more, she has, now, spoken up about her vocal cord surgery that led her to embrace sobriety for six months now.

The singer-actress divulged, when asked about being “sober sober,” it wasn’t just about her vocal surgery that made her decide the case. However, it is also her thinking about her parents’ life experiences where her mom is adopted and her dad had gone through his parents’ divorce at the age of 3.

“…I had been thinking a lot about my mother,” she said, “and I inherited some of the feelings..” Miley added.

The “Can’t Be Tamed” singer even congratulated the interviewer for being sober too. Miley, also, opened up also on how the “you’re no fun” stigma going on in the world of the youth right now.

She added how she loved waking up feeling 100% herself and not feeling groggy. Miley Cyrus’ vocal cord surgery happened in November, which took her a month of not allowed to speak and just writing in a white board.

Prior to the surgery, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth called it quits less than a year into their marriage. The singer-actress is now dating Cody Simpson after the two musicians flaunted their intimate closeness in their respective social media accounts.
