Angelina Jolie, recently, shared her thoughts post George Floyd's murder about systemic racism that had developed over the years and having children of color, who she has adopted.

Jolie addressed the protests and on-going racial tension in the United States that started after the needless murder of George Floyd happened because of a white police officer on May 25.

Since this incident, people across the nation have demonstrated the need to call for police reform and also highlighted the systemic racism that has been part of the society. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK regarding the issue, the Maleficent actress mentioned about her 15-year-old daughter named Zahara, who she adopted from Ethiopia with her ex-husband Brad Pitt.

The actress disclosed how worried she is by having a thought about getting her daughter mistreated because of this system at some point in her life. She talked about more than 70 million people fled from their homes across the globe due to persecution and war while there is discrimination and racism in America.

The thing that Mr. and Mrs. Smith actress found intolerable is that the system which protects her, might not protect her daughter or any other woman, man, or child in United States just because of their skin color.

However, the actress hinted towards the long road we have to travel to achieve the fight against racism as she mentioned about being progressive and go beyond just being sympathetic. She added how policies and good intentions to laws are required in terms of actually addressing the structural impunity and racism.

By ending the police abuses is nothing but just a start for this long journey, which will involve the education system, politics, and all other aspects of the society. The diva also serves as Special Envoy of the High Commissioner for Refugees for the United Nations praised the organizers of the protests for fighting for change which is required for a better society.

Apart from this, the star discussed spending time during coronavirus pandemic with her children. Jolie said that she is doing everything that she can to keep herself calm during the situation. Like any other parent, even Jolie is focusing on staying calm so that she doesn’t share any negative energy with her kids especially anxiety.

Amid lockdown, Jolie shared that her daughter Vivienne had lost her bunny during a surgery, and to get over the sadness, Jolie adopted two little disabled ones for her.
