According to sources, Chris Cuomo, former CNN host, is determined to stop his ex-colleague Don Lemon from joining NewsNation, due to lingering animosity following his dismissal from CNN in 2021, as reported by RadarOnline.com.

Insiders claim Cuomo has not forgiven Lemon, 57, for failing to reach out after he was fired from CNN amid sexual harassment allegations. The 52-year-old former prime-time star is reportedly still bitter about the situation.

"Chris has never forgiven Don for not having the decency to pick up the phone to see how he was after CNN fired him," a source said. "He wasn't necessarily happy when Don got the ax — but he didn't shed any tears over it."

Cuomo has no intention of welcoming Lemon to NewsNation, according to insiders. The two men, who were once as "close as brothers," are now no longer on speaking terms. Cuomo was a mentor to Lemon, the dismissed This Morning co-host, who had previously headlined a post-prime-time news show.

Last month, Lemon was let go by CNN after conflicts with co-workers and controversial comments about politician Nikki Haley being past her prime at 51 years old.

Sources say that Cuomo has not forgotten how Lemon offered no assistance in finding new job opportunities and plans to hinder his ex-friend's chances at NewsNation.

"He's not about to put his career in jeopardy to help somebody as untrustworthy and volatile as Don!" a source stated. "Trouble follows Don wherever he goes. Chris thinks he's toxic."

RadarOnline.com previously reported that CNN announced they were "parting ways" with Lemon after 17 years last month.

Chris Licht, CNN's CEO, said, "CNN and Don have parted ways." He continued, "Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years. We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors."

Lemon expressed shock at his dismissal, stating, "I am stunned." He added, "After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network."

The former CNN host has since retained a high-profile attorney to negotiate his exit.
