According to a bombshell report, Queen Elizabeth II publicly expressed her regret over Prince Harry's relationship with Meghan Markle, referring to her as "evil" and their courtship as a "complete catastrophe."

A source close to the royals told the Spectator that the longest-serving monarch "saw through Meghan Markle" and made these rare remarks at a reception in Balmoral in August, just weeks before her death.

"At the drinks before the dinner, a small group were talking to the monarch, and she explained that Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe and described her as evil," the source claimed.

"Everybody's eyebrows hit the ceiling," the source added. "It was out of character for the Queen to use such a word as 'evil' to describe Meghan, but she saw straight through her. It was a startling sentence to hear from the most forgiving woman on Earth."

The source also suggested that the Queen's outburst might have been due to her declining health and her feeling of regret over how things had turned out.

The Spectator indicated that Meghan's relationship with the royal family was probably beyond repair even last year, before the release of Harry's memoir "Spare" and the couple's Netflix docu-series.

Other insiders have also questioned the couple's assertion that the Queen was the one senior royal with whom they maintained a warm relationship.

Biographer Tom Bower claimed that the Queen once said about her husband Prince Philip's funeral, "Thank goodness Meghan is not coming."

The tension between the couple and the royal family became even more apparent after the Queen's death. Harry hurried to her deathbed without Meghan, delaying his arrival and his opportunity to see her. However, they appeared together at her funeral, further emphasizing their distance from the rest of Harry's family.

Meghan, 41, will not attend the coronation of her father-in-law, King Charles III, on Saturday, reportedly to focus on celebrating her son Prince Archie's fourth birthday, which falls on the same day.

Her relationship with her own father, Thomas Markle, has also deteriorated, as they have been estranged since he failed to attend her 2018 royal wedding, leaving Charles to walk her down the aisle.

Prince Harry, 38, will fly in for his father's historic coronation but is expected to leave within a day.
