This week, Jamie Foxx's team reportedly enlisted the expertise of a leading neurologist to assess the actor's enigmatic "medical complication," according to insiders. The development comes three weeks after Foxx's hospitalization in April, with sources close to the 55-year-old actor indicating that his team is handling the situation with great concern.

It has been alleged that a "top neurologist" was flown in this week to further evaluate the Django Unchained actor's mysterious medical issue. TheJasmineBrand reported on Wednesday, "While it's still unclear why exactly the 55-year-old actor was hospitalized, our insiders say that Jamie’s team is taking the situation very seriously."

The outlet also stated, "Sources close to the actor allegedly say that a top-ranked neurologist is flying into Atlanta to assess Jamie and help him along his recovery journey."

As previously reported by RadarOnline.com, Foxx's family first disclosed that the Baby Driver actor was hospitalized in mid-April due to an undisclosed "medical complication." On April 12, his family announced, "From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday."

The actor's family also expressed gratitude for the prompt action and exceptional care that contributed to Foxx's recovery process.

Although Foxx was reported to be "doing a lot better" and "communicating" shortly after his medical emergency, he remains in the hospital more than 20 days later. The actor broke his silence for the first time since being hospitalized three weeks ago, posting on Instagram, "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed."

Foxx thanked Nick Cannon in another post, writing, "Appreciate ya my boy [Nick Cannon]. See u all soon." As previously reported, Cannon was selected to temporarily replace Foxx as the host of the long-running game show Beat Shazam this week, with filming commencing on Wednesday.

In the meantime, the film Foxx was working on with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close just before his medical emergency, titled Back in Action, has reportedly been thrown into disarray due to the Oscar winner's absence. Foxx was unexpectedly rushed to the hospital on April 11, with only eight more days of shooting remaining for the film.
