Speculation is growing around whether Katy Perry will be removed from her judging role on "American Idol" following a series of incidents where fans believe she has treated contestants poorly.

"Katy has come under fire for harsh comments in the past, and now fans are upset over the way she humiliated a singing duo," an inside source explained. "She demanded they perform before they'd had a chance to rehearse and then blasted their work as 'underwhelming' in front of a national audience!"

Another recent incident involved contestant We Ani, who sang Adele's "Skyfall." Perry and fellow judge Luke Bryan appeared to be preoccupied with discussing the elimination of Elijah McCormick, providing little feedback on Ani's performance.

Perry said, "I'm just so shook right now. First of all, shook by the results, and I'm also shook by that song, it's so dramatic. There's so much drama going through my body right now I need a nap." She then reminded viewers to vote for their favorites.

The judges' lack of focus on Ani's performance did not go unnoticed, with one fan tweeting, "I hope @katyperry and @lukebryan apologize to WeAni for not letting her have her moment and telling America they need to vote instead of applauding her performance."

This is not the first time Perry has been criticized for her behavior on the show, which she has been a part of since 2018. She recently faced backlash for allegedly "mom-shaming" contestant Sara Beth Liebe, who chose to step back from the competition to focus on her children and role as a mother.

Upon learning that the 25-year-old Liebe was already a mother, Perry commented, "honey, you've been laying on the table too much." Fans took to social media to express their disapproval, with one user stating, "Katy is rude and condescending to contestants unless it's a male cutie then she acts like a teenage fool."

While Perry currently remains on the "American Idol" judging panel, the mounting criticism and controversy surrounding her behavior have led many to wonder what it would take for her to be removed from her role.
