The once-close relationship between Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie is reportedly strained, according to recent claims. Charlotte Griffiths, editor at large at Mail on Sunday, appeared on "GB News" and spoke with Dan Wootton about how the royal cousins' relationship has been affected by Sarah Ferguson's recent interview.

Griffiths explained that although Eugenie remains loyal to Prince Harry, her primary loyalty is to her mother. She and her sister, Princess Beatrice, adore Ferguson, who has been promoting her new book through a series of interviews. During these interviews, Ferguson touched on the subject of Meghan Markle delicately, and it is believed that Meghan and Harry have taken offense to her comments. As a result, tensions have arisen between Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie.

International Business Times could not independently confirm these claims.

Next month, Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie are set to reunite at King Charles' coronation. Kinsey Schofield, a U.S.-based royal commentator and host of the "To Di For Daily" podcast, appeared on the same show and said that senior royals, including Prince William, continue to distrust Prince Harry and are unlikely to engage with him. However, she suggested that cousins Zara Tindall, Princess Eugenie, and Princess Beatrice may be more welcoming.

Griffiths believes that although the royal cousins will still interact, their relationship has changed. She predicts that instead of a warm embrace, their encounter may be limited to a nod and a smile.

Reports suggest that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were offended by Ferguson's interview with the Independent, in which she discussed her departure from the royal family and her career as an author. Although she didn't mention Prince Harry and Meghan Markle directly, she stated, "You can't have it both ways. You can't sit on the fence and keep one foot in and one foot out. You're either in or out."

Ferguson is not invited to King Charles' coronation, but she has expressed understanding, acknowledging her lack of ties to the royal family. She clarified her support for King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla during an appearance on ITV's "Loose Women," stating, "You can't be divorced and then say, 'I want this.' You're in, or you're out," and noting that she didn't anticipate an invitation to the event.
