King Charles is not expected to strip Prince Harry and Meghan Markle of their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, as such a move would ignite tensions, according to former royal butler Paul Burrell.

A recent book alleged that discussions about removing the couple's titles have occurred at the highest level, following their departure from royal duties and their subsequent criticisms of the royal family.

However, Burrell, who previously served Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana, believes that King Charles will refrain from taking such action. He explained that Charles has been cautious in his approach to Harry and Meghan, maintaining the moral high ground and avoiding actions that could provoke conflict.

While some people may want King Charles to remove the titles, the monarch is likely to continue his own way of handling the situation. Burrell emphasized that Charles has always been focused and not easily swayed by others' opinions.

King Charles could have altered the rules to prevent Harry and Meghan's children from having prince and princess titles, but he chose not to, as it would have been inflammatory. Burrell noted that Charles is not interested in causing trouble around his coronation, preferring a smooth transition.

In dealing with Harry and Meghan, Charles now faces the same challenge that Queen Elizabeth II faced, trying to balance the needs of the people with those of his family. Burrell, speaking on behalf of Spin Genie, expressed sympathy for the King, who must walk a tightrope between his roles as monarch and father. As King Charles steps into the role of monarch, he will need to prioritize the people, a lesson he has not yet had to learn.
