Princess Eugenie was a little girl when her aunt Princess Diana passed away in a tragic car accident in 1997. Yet, that has not ended the comparison between the two of them by royal fans and several outlets.

Eugenie has about 1.1 million loyal followers on Instagram and is quite popular with millennials. She also has the distinction of being one of those few members of the Royal Family who has her account on social media.

The princess turned 30 on Mar. 23 this year amid the ongoing lockdown in Britain. She celebrated her birthday with Jack Brooksbank, her husband, at their home amid the coronavirus restrictions.

Meanwhile, Phil Dampier, a royal expert told New Idea that it appears the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York is following her late aunt’s footsteps. Her popularity is steadily on the rise and the expert opines she could be also called the new People’s Princess just like Diana.

Dampier praises her and calls her “very intelligent,” as well as, quite good with people as she can make them feel comfortable in her presence. The royal expert also insists people who have met her or interacted with her via her various charities have always praised her. These people have found her to be a “good listener”, as well as, quite friendly.

He says those were the exact qualities Princess Diana also possessed. Additionally, such traits will come handy to Princess Eugenie if she plans to enhance her charitable activities. Dampier also feels she will have a more significant role to play in the future.

With her father not so active these days, the retirement of Prince Philip, and the departure of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the expert feels her role will intensify soon. Even Princess Diana got engaged in more humanitarian endeavors as she grew older.

In 2015, the Princess had told an outlet that she and her sister have various charities they are patrons of. The sisters also try their best to support their grandparents’ charities whenever they can.

Meanwhile, Eugenie has been telling her fans about her different volunteer endeavors on social media. Just last month, the Princess shared on Instagram that she and Jack, her husband were at the Salvation Army. They packed trolleys for food banks to be sent all around the United Kingdom.

Her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York is also posting updates on Instagram regularly and sharing her initiatives to support the frontline workers of COVID-19. It was also reported Sarah, as well as, both her daughters – Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have “personally funded and donated” innumerable items to the needy people and victims of the pandemic, Town&Country reports.
