"Creed III" and "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" actor Jonathan Majors has been charged with multiple counts of assault and harassment following an alleged domestic dispute, the Manhattan district attorney's office has confirmed.

New York City police arrested Majors on Saturday after responding to a 911 call at an apartment in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood.

A 30-year-old woman reportedly suffered minor head and neck injuries and was hospitalized. Majors was released from police custody on Saturday night. The district attorney's office charged him with several counts of third-degree assault, attempted third-degree assault, second-degree aggravated harassment, and second-degree harassment.

Majors was released on his own recognizance by a judge, who also issued a limited order of protection. His next court date is set for May 8th. The female accuser, who remains unnamed, alleges that Majors struck her face, causing significant pain and a laceration behind her ear, and that he put his hand around her neck, causing bruising and pain.

Majors' criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, maintains the actor's innocence, stating that he was the victim in the altercation. Chaudhry claims they are quickly gathering evidence to present to the District Attorney in hopes of having all charges dropped.

This evidence reportedly includes video footage, witness testimony, and written statements from the accuser recanting her allegations.

Majors' representative also denies any wrongdoing, expressing confidence that his name will be cleared. As part of Marvel Studios' current phase, Majors is set to play Kang in the 2025 release "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty." Ads featuring Majors for the US Army were pulled following his arrest, with the army's enterprise marketing office citing concerns about the allegations and emphasizing the importance of prudence until the investigation is completed.
