Robert De Niro allegedly wants to take a step back from his busy acting career so that he could focus on planning his wedding to Tiffany Chen.

In its Feb. 13 issue, National Enquirer claimed that De Niro has not lost faith in marriage even if he has been divorced more than once before. And since he has been dating Chen for quite some time, he wants the two of them to end up at the altar.

However, this also means that he needs to set aside his acting career so that he could spend more time with his new wife.

“He wants to rethink his very busy work schedule and make more room for the loved ones in his life, Tiffany most of all. As his 80th birthday approaches, marrying Tiffany is something he gives serious thought to. He’s a calmer man since Tiffany entered his life,” the source said.

The source also claimed that it’s quite surprising to know that De Niro has not soured on marriage even if his relationship with ex-wife Grace ended bitterly.

“Bobby’s not totally soured on marriage though you’d think he would be because of what he went through with Grace. But Tiffany is safe and sweet and kind and she doesn’t feel inhibited by their age difference. She’s really great for him and he can see it,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. It’s not true that De Niro wants to wed Chen. And even if he does want to marry his longtime girlfriend, there’s no reason for him to take a step back in his acting career.

There’s no indication that De Niro cannot juggle his career and romantic relationship at the same time because he has already done this multiple times before.

And while it is true that De Niro’s marriage to his second wife ended on a negative note, this doesn’t seem like enough reason for the veteran actor to give up on love.

After all, he must have experienced a handful of wonderful things when he got married to his first and second wives. And it’s just unfortunate that these marriages didn’t last very long.

However, this doesn’t mean that De Niro and Chen’s marriage wouldn’t work out either.
