Several enraged protesters gathered outside the White House on May 29, leaving Donald Trump no choice but to hole up in an underground bunker, a White House office, and a law enforcement source confirmed. The president stayed there for less than about an hour before he was brought back upstairs.

In an interview with CNN, law enforcement source, and an insider with knowledge of the matter said along with Trump, first lady Melania Trump and their son, Baron was also shited to the bunker. The law enforcement source with knowledge of the protocol explained that when authorities move the president, they need to move all protectees, including Melania and Barron.

Another source added that if the White House condition is raised to RED, and Trump is shifted to the Emergency Operations Center, all first family members, meaning, Melania Trump, Barron Trump will be moved as well. On Sunday, the White House told its staffers that were slated to come to work the next day to not reveal their passes until they reach the Secret Service entry point and to keep it hidden even as they leave.

This piece of information was revealed in an email that also echoed mandates for maximum telework status, adding that there is still an elevated security posture citing the protests. Trump lauded the Secret Service for how it handled the protesters outside the White House on May 29 who were inveighing against the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week.

The New York Times was the first to report Trump was taken to the presidential bunker. After protesters outside the White House left, Trump took to Twitter to announce he is safe and slam D.C.'s Democratic mayor. He also hinted at possibilities of his supporters coming together the same night for a counter-protest.

Trump shared a series of tweets, applauding the US Secret Service for keeping him safe inside the highly-guarded mansion on May 29. Trump wrote he felt safe despite protestors gathering outside the White House over the death of Floyd. Trump warned protesters that they'd have to face dogs and weapons if they tried entering the gates.

Trump accused Mayor Muriel Bowser of not allowing DC police to handle the situation, but Secret Service denied this accusation saying they were on the scene. After the launch of the NASA/SpaceX rocket, the president spoke at NASA's Kennedy Space Center about the nation-wide protest. He strongly criticized the protesters and expressed support for most of the police officers, while blaming Antifa, as well as the radical left with any sort of proof.
