The anti-Trump Republican group known as The Lincoln Project is all set to come up with a new ad that highlights President Donald Trump's track record on maintaining relations between different races in the United States. The TV spot is backed by an ad buy of a whopping $500,000 and is slated to air in important battleground states of Washington, DC., Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida.

Dubbed as Flag of Treason, the ad targets the white nationalist groups' support that the president has received. The group had released several ads in the past, strongly criticizing the president for his delayed response to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, playing off 1984 political campaign TV commercial Morning in America, which was a part of Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign.

The Mourning in America became an instant hit among The Lincoln Project supports, giving the group an infusion of funds. The group is spearheaded by a high-profile team that primarily comprises George Conway, Reed Galen, Rick Wilson, John Weaver, and other anti-Trump Republicans.

In addition to them, The Lincoln Project has the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway. Even Stuart Stevens, who is the former Mitt Romney strategist has now joined the group. They are bent on making sure that Trump does not get reelected and even ran an ad promoting the presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden last month.

Keeping in line with their mission, the group leaves no stone unturned in a bid to get under the president's skin. Each of the group's principles coordinated themselves with the NeverTrump movement back in the 2016 election. Moreover, the members of The Lincoln Project have openly criticized Trump, as well as the Republican Party ever since.

Trump and his colleagues, on the other hand, have called the Lincoln Project a scam PAC, that aims at drawing attention to the principles' business connections while ignoring that Trump's businesses are spared from such criticism either. An earlier report from CNN had revealed that the pro-Trump super PAC America First had shelled out a lot of money on companies owned by Brad Parscale, who is also the manager of the Trump campaign.

The Lincoln Project was formed last year, garnering over $2.5 million towards the end of March and shelling out nearly $1.2 million of the raised amount in the same period. FEC filings suggest a huge portion of that amount, nearly $780, 00, has been given to a media-consulting company which is owned by Galen known as Summit Strategic Communications, which creates ads and offers other services to the Lincoln Project.
