Henry Cavill is coming back to small screens after announcing his return as Superman will no longer happen. But, it is not with Netflix nor “The Witcher” as the material will move forward unchanged.

On Friday, the 39-year-old actor made a new and exciting announcement for the fans of “Warhammer 40,000.” Taking his news to Instagram, he revealed that he has “something familiar” to bring to the fandom, promising “to respect this IP” that they all love.

Cavill posted a video of the well-known game’s logo and wrote in the caption an update on his activities in his career.

The actor begins his note by telling fans and followers that he has “dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action” for 30 years. Now, with “22 years of experience in this industry,” he said he feels “that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life.”

The “Man of Steel” star seemingly confirmed in the post that he will take on the role of the executive producer for the new material, which he said Amazon will house.

Elsewhere in the caption, Henry Cavill noted that “partnering with Natalie Viscuso at Vertigo has been a blessing beyond words,” adding that “without her we might not have found the perfect home at Amazon.” He also stated that “having a home like Amazon will give us the freedom to be true to the massive scope of ‘Warhammer.’”

In the end, the actor shared that their “first steps” would be finding their “Filmmaker/Creator/Writer,” before urging fans and followers, whom he referred to as “my friends,” to “watch this space.”

The Hollywood Reporter said Henry Cavill is set to star and executive produce a series adaptation of the famed sci-fi fantasy miniature war game, “Warhammer 40,000.”

It also noted in a recent report that Amazon has secured the rights to the game, which Games Workshop produced, after months of negotiations.

The latest on Cavill’s career comes days after he announced his exit as Superman. He took the “sad news” to Instagram, telling his audience that he will “not be returning” after all.

The “Enola Holmes” actor also said in the same piece, posted Wednesday, that his “turn to wear the cape has passed.” But, even so, he stated that “what Superman stands for never will,” before ending the post with, “It’s been a fun ride with you all, onwards and upwards.”

Following Wednesday’s announcement, many reportedly wondered whether Henry Cavill would return as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s “The Witcher” for its fourth season.

But, Variety noted in a report, published Thursday, that the Season 4 of the Netflix series will remain unchanged moving forward, adding that Liam Hemsworth will star as Geralt of Rivia.

Cavill confirmed his exit from the series in October after announcing his return as Superman in the DC Extended Universe.
