King Charles III wasn’t allegedly able to focus on Queen Elizabeth’s funeral last week because his mind kept drifting to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

In its Oct. 3 issue, New Idea claimed that even though King Charles should be focused on the queen, he still can’t help but think of what Prince Harry and Markle’s next move would be.

“This has been the hardest two weeks of Charles’ life. He had to grieve his mother, face the world’s media, shake hands with guests, and all the while he was wondering what his son and daughter-in-law were plotting next. It might sound harsh but they brought it on themselves, especially with Harry’s memoir looming over them, and Meghan’s threat made just before the queen died that she could say anything about the family. The whole mess just galls Charles,” the source said.

The source added that the royal family couldn’t help but worry about King Charles. After all, he’s already in his 70s and might not be completely healthy to take on the duties and responsibilities of a monarch.

And on top of his busy schedule, he has to do with threats from Prince Harry and Markle. So, the other members of the royal family are advising him to just ignore the couple.

On the other hand, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are allegedly thinking of ways how they can keep their ties with the royal family. This doesn’t mean that they plan to get on the British clan’s good side. They could also keep destroying their reputation during their interviews.

At the end of the day, the source insisted that it’s unlikely for King Charles III to ever forgive his daughter-in-law. It’s a different situation for Prince Harry because they are related by blood.

“He wishes Meghan would just leave them alone to grieve. He’s no spring chicken anymore and the past two weeks have been very hard on him. There have been efforts on both sides to make this right. It was good to see Harry standing with his family,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt. Markle has not done or said anything about King Charles III and the royal family since the queen died. And it’s not true that there are still tensions between her and her father-in-law.
