Hilary Duff faced embarrassment after her three-year-old daughter shared a personal story at camp. This has even led her to hilariously call her second child a “rat” on social media.

The 34-year-old actress posted a Story on Instagram, featuring a screenshot of a text message she received. In the caption of the post, she wrote, “Whoaa! Don’t trust your kids! Home girl ousted [sic] me to the soccer coaches.”

E! News, in its recent piece covering the story, quoted the text message Duff has posted on her account, writing, “Banks told a story at camp… ‘my mom made bad chicken and now she has diarrhea… that’s what happens when you make bad chicken.’”

The “Raise Your Voice” star followed the Instagram Story with a picture of her child, grinning while on the swings. She captioned the photo with “The Rat,” implying that her daughter ratted her out.

Hilary Duff has been open about her experiences as a mother since becoming one. She even shared a warning for parents who are expecting during a July 29 appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” according to TODAY.

The “A Cinderella Story” actress stated that new parents should “not get fooled by the first two weeks because you have an angel baby.” She explained that this is the case as “they just have not woken up yet.”

The publication later quoted Duff, saying, “You have those friends who are like, ‘This baby is sleeping through the night.’ Just wait two weeks. They don’t know they’ve entered the world yet.”

The “So Yesterday” singer has three children, with her youngest being 17 months old.

When Hilary Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma, welcomed their child in March 2021, she told People that her new life as a mom of three was “crazy.” She explained that while she has a helping hand, “babies just want their mom,” adding that it applies even to her eldest child, whom she welcomed during her first marriage.

The “Material Girls” star continued, “it is a learning curve to throw a newborn into the mix.” She added, “a lot of people have been like, ‘That third kid really gets you,’ and they’re right.”

Nevertheless, Hilary Duff noted that she is “so in love with all [her] kids,” noting that she “loves this mayhem.” She also touted how she has found the perfect partner in Matthew Koma, especially when it comes to parenting.

The celebrity couple welcomed their first child in 2018. They tied the knot the following year, more than one year before having their second daughter.
