Another celebrity relationship ends as the global coronavirus pandemic continues to rage around the world. This time, it is Riverdale stars Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart who have split up.

E! News reports that sources close to the couple have reported that the couple split up. The news has been brewing ever since cheating allegations linking Cole Sprouse to Kaia Gerber surfaced last April. Sprouse and Reinhart are even quarantining separately, which did not help quell the rumors.

This separation drama is just the latest to hit the couple. The summer of last year, rumors were already circulating about the couple’s separation, although they were denied by Reinhart during a W Magazine cover story. According to the actress, her fans should be wary of the information they read from the internet.

Perhaps the biggest clue that the relationship was indeed over is Page Six recounting the hint given by the girlfriend of Sprouse and Reinhart’s former castmate, Skeet Ulrich. As reported by Page Six, Ulrich was answering questions from fans on his Instagram Live when he was asked about Sprouse and Reinhart. Both Ulrich and his girlfriend referred to Sprouse and Reinhart’s relationship in the past tense.

Reinhart and Sprouse were first reported to be dating back in 2017, although they only made a public appearance together in 2018 when they attended the Met Gala.

The end of Sprouse and Reinhart’s three years of dating is just the latest relationship implosion to happen during the coronavirus pandemic. Eastenders star Jacqueline Jossa recently moved out of the house she shared with her husband Dan Osbourne as allegations of him messaging models online hounded their marriage.

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox also had their marriage end very publicly as Fox was seen out in public with Machine Gun Kelly. Further confirming the end of their relationship was Fox’s starring role in Machine Gun Kelly’s Bloody Valentine music video. Green also went on his podcast to confirm the end of their marriage.

While their relationship seems to be going okay, Florence Pugh also had her relationship with Zach Braff attacked after she added a photo on Instagram showing him napping. She had to upload a video on her Instagram defending Braff after their relationship was questioned by internet commenters who were troubled by the huge age gap between the two.

It is a good thing that Sprouse and Reinhart are not isolating together, as the continued rise in coronavirus cases would have meant a longer time together that would possibly turn awkward. As of the May 25 situation report from the World Health Organization, there are now 5,304,772 confirmed COVID-19 cases around the world. Deaths caused by the virus are now at 342,029 people.

In the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention update for May 25 puts the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases at 1,637,456 people. Fatalities from COVID-19 are now at 97,669 people.
