Meghan Markle and Prince Harry paid their respective tributes to Princess Diana during their trip to New York City.

On Monday, the former actress wore one of the late royal’s prized possessions on a night out with the Duke of Sussex, according to Express UK. She reportedly completed her ensemble with a Cartier Tank watch that once belonged to the Princess of Wales.

The outlet noted that the piece is valued at over $27,000. No other details were given regarding the said watch, except that it was once owned by the royal-born Prince’s late mother.

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband stepped out in the city to have dinner together at Locanda Verde in the Lower Manhattan area. She sported a stylish black and white jumpsuit and partnered it with black stilettos and a red clutch.

As for the youngest Wales prince, he donned a navy blue shirt and black denim jeans for the outing. He completed the look with a pair of suede trainers.

The outing came after Prince Harry delivered a speech at the United Nations in celebration of Nelson Mandela Day. In his keynote address, he made a shoutout to Princess Diana as he spoke about his love for Africa, as well as Meghan Markle.

The publication quoted the former working royal, saying, “[Africa] is where I felt closest to my mother and sought solace after she died, and where I knew I had found a soulmate in my wife.”

Following the NYC outing, People said Meghan Markle’s jumpsuit, which is a Gabriela Hearst piece, was “reminiscent” of the glamorous gown Kate Middleton wore in May. It explained that both sartorial items were black and featured a white off-the-shoulder neckline.

The magazine continued that the Duchess of Cambridge sported the ensemble, which is a floor-length Roland Mouret gown, on the red carpet to the U.K. premiere of “Top Gun: Maverick.” She was with Prince William at the event in London’s Leicester Square.

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s NYC night out also sparked allegations, with a source claiming she acted like a “princess.”

The insider told Page Six that the Duchess of Sussex “asked the people at Locanda Verde to have the entire inner outdoor courtyard, which seats 50, for herself and four people, including Prince Harry.”

In addition, the security team of the former working royals also allegedly informed other guests at the eatery that they would be “asked to leave” if they tried to take photos of the pair.

The publication later noted, though, that the reps for the restaurant and the former actress did not comment on the matter. Even so, a different informant asserted that the Sussexes’ camp “only ‘requested a specific table in the dining room.’”
