Meghan Markle reportedly wanted to become the face of Ralph Lauren. A royal biographer claimed that this came after she secured a two-year contract with Reitmans, the largest women’s clothing retailer in Canada.

Tom Bower claimed via his new material, “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors,” that each of the former actress’s small successes was “accompanied by disappointment on the bigger stage.” He cited the claims involving the Duchess of Sussex’s contract with Reitmans and her longing to become the face of Ralph Lauren as one of the apparent examples.

Express UK quoted the royal author's written piece, claiming, “No serious Hollywood star, Meghan must have thought, would associate herself with Reitmans, a brand whose clothes cost under [$77].”

Bower continues, “She longed to be the face of Ralph Lauren, not Reitmans,” and adds, “At least no one outside Canada would see the campaign.”

The royal biographer also wrote in his book that “Hollywood repeatedly rejected” Meghan Markle. This is said to be the dynamic long before she met Prince Harry in 2016.

Elsewhere in the book, Tom Bower alleged that the Duchess of Sussex’s “hero and role model” once rejected her request to meet. He claimed that it occurred when she attended a small meeting addressed by Emma Watson during a visit to London.

The expert stated that the then-actress asked to meet the “Harry Potter” star at the end of the engagement. However, the English actress allegedly “rejected the request,” adding that the “snub was mortifying” for her.

It is unclear whether the allegations are legitimate. Also, Meghan Markle has yet to break her silence regarding the material.

This seemingly makes the latest claims from the book speculative. Unless otherwise stated or confirmed by the involved parties, they will remain as such.

This was not the first time that Meghan Markle faced similar claims about Hollywood supposedly rejecting her.

Earlier in April, an unnamed source told Heat that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had failed to break into any circles in Hollywood. As alleged, California had not turned out to be the “celebrity dream” they wanted.

The former working royals were claimed to have “had hoped to become part of the elite.” However, they could not reportedly seem “to get a foot in the door,” adding that they were “frozen out.”

The source continued that the Sussex pair “thought the invites would come thick and fast” upon relocation to California. Unfortunately, “they [had] ended up being quite isolated,” noting that it was “not by choice.”

Following the claims, though, no proof came to light to substantiate the story. No one verified the claims, making it another set of speculations involving the Sussexes.
