Netizens are not seemingly happy with what went down between Doja Cat and Noah Schnapp.

On Wednesday, Page Six reported that the 26-year-old singer lost nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram. It noted that the data was from Social Blade, adding, however, that the “Stranger Things” actor gained about 2 million followers.

It reportedly comes after the “DM controversy” that the celebrities have had since last week. As it happened, the “Planet Her” artist called out the 17-year-old actor, deeming him “socially unaware and wack” for posting their private conversations.

The publication recalled that it all began when Doja Cat reached out to Noah Schnapp on Instagram. She asked the young celebrity to set her up with his co-star, Joseph Quinn.

The “Stranger Things” actor reportedly saw the opportunity to make a “funny” TikTok about his conversation with the rapper. He shared screenshots of their messages, and the since-deleted post went viral across media platforms.

However, the “Say So” singer did not find it funny. She went live on Instagram, as a result, reportedly calling Schnapp’s post “borderline snake s***,” adding that it was “like weasel s***.”

In the same live video, Doja Cat noted that she did not want her fans to overreact, citing the actor’s age, and said he is “just a kid.”

Mail Online quoted the singer, saying, “... to be fair, let’s try to be chill about it. Like Noah is a kid.” She continues, “young people do ‘dumb s***’ and ‘f*** up relationships with people.”

Elsewhere in the “rant” video, the “Kiss Me More” singer pointed out that her earlier words do not “encapsulate [Schnapp]’s entire personality.” She added that she does not “imagine Noah that way,” although, while “maybe he is, like a whole snake,” she does not see him that way.

In the end, the artist stated that she assumed the young actor would be “chill about it.” However, “he went and shared information that [she] did not feel comfortable with him sharing.”

Noah Schnapp returned to TikTok earlier on Wednesday. He made a video, which Us Weekly described as “fun,” featuring himself doing math.

The “Stranger Things” star did not directly address the controversy in the material. But, he wrote in the comment section, “Guys everything is all good I apologized and I still follow her and love her music no hard feelings.”

Doja Cat has not made any comment about the post.

As for Joseph Quinn, he has since maintained his silence regarding the controversy.
