Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are trying to be amicable for the sake of their children.

According to Hollywood Life, Jolie gave Pitt her blessing to travel to Italy and celebrate Knox and Vivienne’s 14th birthday with the entire family.

“Angelina’s on a tight shooting schedule [on Without Blood] so she’s relieved that Brad was able to come to Rome to see the kids and be there for Knox and Vivienne’s birthday, it means a lot to her that he made the trip,” a source said.

The source also claimed that Jolie sets aside her issues with Pitt for the sake of their children especially when there’s an important occasion.

Jolie is also grateful to Pitt for celebrating Knox and Vivienne’s 14th birthday because this meant that someone was with the twins while she was busy with other things.

“She always bends over backward to make sure the kids get time with their dad, especially on special occasions like birthdays and holidays. But in this situation, she was stressing about how to make it all work, so the fact that Brad’s stepped up and made the trip has taken a huge weight off her shoulders, his effort hasn’t gone unnoticed,” the source said.

Prior to Knox and Vivienne’s birthday, Jolie and Pitt barely spoke to each other. In fact, their communication was typically coursed through a third party since their custody battle hasn’t been resolved yet.

Despite their differences, Jolie and Pitt both prioritize their children. So, at the end of the day, it is their children’s needs and wants that come before everything else.

The A-listers do not also want their kids to be dragged into their feud. So, when there are special occasions, they try to be at peace with each other.

Entertainment Tonight also published a photo of Pitt that shows him wearing a casual outfit as he arrived at the airport in Italy. He was also carrying a guitar in his backpack.

However, it’s unclear if Pitt flew to Italy to celebrate his twins’ birthday. After all, it’s entirely possible for him to be there for an entirely different reason.

As of writing, there’s no indication that Pitt and Jolie have also buried the hatchet. And during his interview with GQ, the Ad Astra actor admitted that his life has been pretty lonely because he’s always alone.
