Modernizing the British Monarchy appears to be the goal of Kate Middleton and Prince William. An expert even recently said that they seemingly took a “step away” from Queen Elizabeth II’s style.

Express UK reported that the statement comes after the royal couple went to St. John’s Primary School in Glasgow. During the visit, they took part and participated in a special “Roots of Empathy” session with children.

Following the engagement, royal correspondent Richard Palmer told Pandora Forsyth of the “Royal Roundup” podcast that the Duchess of Cambridge made an “interesting” response to the program. He then recalled the reported words of the future Queen Consort, saying, “Kate actually said, ‘do you [think] this is something we should see in every school in the United Kingdom.’”

The expert asserted that the royals are “so terrified of getting involved in a party political debate about it.” But, considering that she responded “we do” to the question, he thought it was “really interesting.”

The host chimed in and stated that it was likely a “sign of the modernization” of the British Monarchy. She reportedly also sees it as a potential move to “come across a lot more human.”

Forsyth continued that Kate Middleton had a “slight opinion” on such topics. Accordingly, she concluded that it is “definitely a step away from [Queen Elizabeth II]’s style of monarchy.”

The talks about modernizing the British Monarchy have become more apparent these past few weeks. A source even recently alleged that there are already plans in place on how Prince William and Kate Middleton intend to do this, according to The List.

The outlet centered on the subject of changing names, or rather having nicknames. As claimed, it will become “Wills and Kate” instead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The said plan reportedly emerged after the royal couple’s controversial Caribbean tour. It is stated that there was a “general consensus” about the trip seemingly “out of date, out of touch, too formal, and too stuffy.”

The source, who spoke of the plan to The Sun, added that the future King and Queen Consort are “dropping the royal titles in an effort to make a more ‘modern monarchy.’” This then led the publication to note that it is a “big change,” considering nicknames “not allowed” in the British Royal Family.

Marie Claire released a similar report on the matter, detailing the informant’s other claims. As stated, the modernization, which The Sun has since referred to as a “royal revolution,” will include Kate Middleton and Prince William employing about 70 fewer aides than Prince Charles.

The royal pair, especially the Duke of Cambridge, also allegedly intends to “create a more cost-effective, less formal team.” He plans, as well, to work on a total of five to six “comfortable and credible” causes.

The future King and Queen Consort have yet to release an official comment about the matter.
