Prince Charles vows to make Queen Elizabeth II proud as a King of the United Kingdom. He is reportedly determined to do so now that the monarch plans to pass the baton after the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.

A palace insider revealed the matter to New Idea, which printed the story earlier on Monday. As claimed, the Prince of Wales and the reigning British Monarch held a meeting at the beginning of the year to talk “pragmatically about if and when she should step down.”

It was allegedly a “difficult conversation” for the two royals, “but one they knew they must have.” Moreover, despite knowing it was a day that might come eventually, it does not make things any easier on the Queen’s part.

The same sources continued that Queen Elizabeth II felt it was time to draw a “new plan” when the COVID-19 cases surged once again before Christmas. Consequently, during the engagement, she told Prince Charles that it is her desire to “get through” with the Platinum Jubilee before passing it all down to him.

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales has reportedly “assured” his mother about his determination to make her proud. He is said to have spent his entire life “absorbing” the essence of becoming a monarch from the Queen, who has continued to serve in the last seven decades.

In the end, the informants noted that the rest of the senior working royals and other “trusted figures” are aware of the meeting and the decision of Queen Elizabeth II to “stand down” soon. Furthermore, she hinted at the plans when she announced Camilla's future role as Queen Consort, adding that it was “a test to see how well the public would react” to Prince Charles and his wife becoming King and Queen Consort of the United Kingdom.

The British Monarch has, indeed, expressed her wish for the Duchess of Cornwall to become Queen Consort when the Heir Apparent ascends to the British Throne. However, there is no assurance whether the latest claims are legitimate.

The so-called “palace insiders” never provided any proof to support the assertions. Therefore, the narrative of the monarch passing the baton to her son after the Platinum Jubilee celebrations remains speculative and suppositional.

In other related news, royal author Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly on Tuesday that Queen Elizabeth II’s decision, backing Prince Charles’ wife to become the next Queen Consort, is “driving a wedge” among the British Royals. He, also, alleged that Prince Harry and Prince William were “blindsided.
