Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez are allegedly feuding, and their goal is to outdo each other at the altar.

In its March 7 issue, Globe claimed that Carey and her longtime boyfriend, Brian Tanaka are suddenly planning their wedding after learning that Lopez and Ben Affleck could also tie the knot this year.

A source claimed that Carey wants to make sure her wedding would be bigger and more expensive compared to Lopez and Affleck’s nuptials.

“It’s no secret Mariah’s got an ax to grind with J.Lo. Any chance she gets, she takes shots at her. She wouldn’t marry Bryan just to get one over on J.Lo. She’s also totally in love with him, but it would definitely be icing on the cake,” the source said.

The source also said that Tanaka is more than excited to wed Carey since they have been dating since 2016. And the much younger guy also wants to be known as Mr. Mariah Carey.

“He’s been dying to put a ring on it. So, the fact that Mariah suddenly has a real timeframe for this wedding is great news for him. They haven’t set a date, but Mariah has said she wants to do it this year and she wants the wedding of the year with money no object,” the source said.

According to the source, Carey and Tanaka’s wedding would take place at the actress’s mansion in Los Angeles.

The singer is also allegedly planning to invite some of the biggest names in the industry and believes that they would love to attend her wedding more than Lopez and Affleck’s.

“She knows it will be compared to J.Lo’s nuptials to Ben Affleck and is hell-bent on beating her,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

Carey and Tanaka are not yet engaged. And Affleck has not also popped the question. So, it’s unlikely for the two singers to wed their respective partners this year.

By the looks of it, the tabloid is just pitting Carey and Lopez against each other amid previous claims that they are feuding.

There was a time when Carey was asked if she knew who Lopez was, and she said that she had no idea.

But over the years, Lopez proved to be even more popular than Carey, especially among younger fans.
