Meghan Markle allegedly banned Prince Harry from cutting ties with Netflix even though he’s being urged to do so.

In its Nov. 22 issue, Woman’s Day claimed that those close to Prince Harry and the late Princess Diana are encouraging him to cut ties with Netflix. After all, the streaming platform seems to be exploiting the late royal’s memory with multiple projects centered on the Princess of Wales.

However, a source claimed that even though Prince Harry wants to end his professional relationship with Netflix, he has no other choice but to continue the partnership because of his wife, Meghan Markle.

The source alleged that it’s Markle that’s banning Prince Harry from cutting ties with the streaming platform because Netflix is one of their main sources of income.

“Harry needs Netflix more than they need him. And Meghan won’t ever agree to quit that much cash. Some of the storylines are going to be ramped up and Harry is beginning to realize he can’t have it both ways,” the source said.

The rumors started circulating shortly after Princess Diana’s friend, Jemima Khan criticized the portrayals of the late royal in The Crown. Khan worked as a script consultant on the show, but she recently cut ties with the production team because of their alleged disrespect towards the Princess of Wales.

“The Spencers are horrified at how Diana’s being presented. They’ve made it clear Harry needs to intervene and if things aren’t toned down and made more respectful, he should cut ties,” the source said.

As of late, there is no proof that the Spencers are indeed urging Prince Harry to cut ties with Netflix. And even if they are, the decision is entirely up to the Duke of Sussex.

Markle’s inputs on the matter will most certainly be taken into consideration. However, it’s unlikely for Markle to be the one to make the final decision.

By the looks of it, Prince Harry and Markle are still working with Netflix because it is their choice and decision as a couple and not because the latter is urging the former too.

According to Tatler, Khan previously dated The Crown series creator, Peter Morgan. But the two called it quits earlier this year. And this is one of the other reasons why fans are convinced that Khan decided to exit the long-running Netflix drama.
