Queen Elizabeth has allegedly written a speech announcing her decision to abdicate following last month’s health scare.

In its Nov. 8 issue, New Idea claimed that the queen didn’t initially want to step down. However, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, and the other senior royals joint forces in urging her to just stay at home so that she could focus on her health.

The queen didn’t want to listen because she promised to serve The Crown until her dying day. But she soon realized that she also needs to take care of herself.

“The queen has conceded that she is the sovereign in name only at this point and has spent the past few years handing most of her roles and patronages to her children and grandchildren. She knew this would happen eventually, but she won’t step down until she absolutely has to,” the source said.

The insider added that Her Majesty has plans in place to formally step aside and name Prince Charles as her successor. And her speech is ready, and she also has her entire family’s support.

While speaking with the publication, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that the decision to step down didn’t come easy for the monarch. After all, she’s not someone who normally likes to slow down.

But the tabloid’s source is convinced that the queen will make an official announcement after her Platinum Jubilee in June since it’s an event that she has been waiting for for years.

“She is determined to be on that balcony. After seven decades of completely selfless service, she deserves it. It has been a horrendous few years for the queen and she wants to end her reign on a high with the jubilee and those around her will move heaven and earth to get her there,” the source said.

However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.

The queen won’t be abdicating anytime soon. And she didn’t also prepare a speech ahead of the important announcement.

While the concerns regarding the queen’s health are valid especially because of her age, the palace has not made an announcement on whether she would abdicate.

As such, everything that’s being said on tabloids and by royal experts are just based on their own perspective on the matter and not on what the queen intends to do.

For now, the queen is back at home recovering from her recent hospitalization.
