Ahead of the season 7 finale, The CW has finally announced the official premiere schedule of the eighth installment of The Flash. The superhero drama has encountered a series of delays in 2020 as the production was shut down, mostly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, The CW confirmed that The Flash season 8 is delivering its new episodes starting mid-November 2021. The series stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen a.k.a. the titular superhero. It focuses on his adventures in Central City while trying to take down the villains in the process.

The show comes from the main series Arrow, which already concluded. Since the flagship program has ended, The Flash has been considered the longest’ running Arrowverse series. It continues bringing a lot of stories for the titular superhero and the rest of the characters.

At the moment, the show's current chapter is still airing on The CW. The series encountered several setbacks last year and filming was delayed because of the global health crisis. The seventh installment is said to have a total of 18 episodes, making it the shortest season so far.

The series returned with the storylines left in season 6, which is all about the Mirroverse. After wrapping up this plot, the superhero drama delved into a new arc: the new Speed Force of Barry. The later episodes also brought changes to Team Flash, such as departure Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes).

Both Cavanagh and Valdes are part of the series since the first season and season 7 marks the last one for their characters. While the two decided to leave, The Flash is introducing a new character Bart Allen/Impulse (Jordan Fisher), and sees the return of Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy).

Although the series is currently airing on The CW, the network has already dropped major news to the upcoming season 8. In a report from TVLine, it was confirmed the superhero drama will be returning on Tuesday, November 16 at 8 pm.

The series was already renewed for season 8 earlier in 2021. However, the superhero drama was only halfway through season 7 at the time, so no further details have been unveiled. But, The CW chairman Mark Pedowitz teased that the next chapter kicks off with 5 crossover-type episodes featuring different characters from Arrowverse coming in Central City.

The remaining episodes of the seventh season of The Flash arrive every Tuesday night on The CW.
