Mark Wahlberg is allegedly struggling to lose weight after gaining some pounds for his role.

In its May 24 issue, Star claimed that Wahlberg initially had a blast while he was trying to gain weight because this meant that he could eat whatever he wanted.

However, soon he realized that getting rid of the additional weight is a huge struggle and none of his old clothes fit him.

“Mark is such a fitness buff so it’s weird to see him this way. His friends are concerned since he’s going on 50, he won’t be able to drop the weight after the movie’s wrapped,” the source said.

By the looks of it, the tabloid is just basing their dubious claims off of Wahlberg’s previous interview.

During his conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, Wahlberg revealed that after doing his boxing scenes, he got to put on as much as 30 pounds throughout the filming of his movie.

The actor told Kimmel that he's been on a regimen for so long. So, after he decided to go off track for his movie, he found himself craving all sorts of carbs. He also wanted to eat everything that he didn't get to eat for years.

However, there’s no proof that Wahlberg is struggling to lose the 30 pounds that he put on during filming. Even the actor himself said that he’s been on a regimen for so long. This means that he’s been taking good care of his body for years.

The actor has also been uploading his photos on Instagram, and he doesn’t look as though he’s gained 30 pounds.

Last week, the actor posed in an all-black ensemble while promoting the latest Municipal game day tracksuit. In the snap, Wahlberg looks as slim as ever so it’s highly likely that he’s started losing all the weight he gained.

In related news, Wahlberg previously revealed that he’s been on a plant-based diet for years. While speaking with Men’s Health, the actor also said that he exercises regularly, and his routine is tied to the movie that he is filming.

“I train for whatever my next role is or whatever I gotta do for work. If I gotta get out of shape, then I’m eating fried food and drinking beer for the first couple of weeks. If I gotta get as thin as possible, like in The Gambler, I’m on a liquid diet and jump rope 200 rounds a day,” he said.
