Meghan Markle has been constantly brought down by the media during her time in the British Monarchy. In one of her and Prince Harry’s royal tour, particularly in Africa, the new mother shocked the world when she showed a vulnerable side, expressing the difficulties of being a new mother and a working royal.

Rebecca English of Daily Mail UK revealed in a news article that after Meghan’s confession that she was ‘Not Ok’ on an interview for their documentary ‘Harry & Meghan: An African Journey,’ two royals reached out to her.

Despite the past reports claiming that Meghan was unsupported in her journey as a brand new royal, English came out with an article revealing that two royals reached out to the Duchess of Sussex after hearing her response.

Apparently, Kate Middleton was so concerned for Meghan’s mental health that she reached out immediately but ultimately failed.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s own experience as a brand new mother doing a royal tour could have been a much-needed story for Meghan.

Another royal thought to have reached out to the 39-year-old royal was Sophie Wessex, wife of Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. The mother-of-two was also very worried regarding Meghan’s mental state, according to English.

All senior royals have to go on tour as part of their duties, and on several occasions, women have just given birth or are pregnant during these tours.

This has become somewhat customary to the Royal Firm as royal babies are welcomed with very high anticipation and regard.

During Meghan and Prince Harry’s tour in Africa, the Duchess of Sussex had just given birth to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor five months before. A question raised by an interviewer for their ITV documentary, the heartfelt answer of Meghan resonated with women.

When asked if she was doing OK, the royal answered, “You have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman...it’s a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s um…yeah. I guess, also thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I’m okay.”

Meghan addressed this event in a recent podcast with Teenage Therapy, and wherein, she explained the teary response saying that she was very vulnerable during the interview and how she just answered honestly, and because there was no burden to present herself as being kept together.

The Duchess of Sussex also shared her miscarriage story last year through a New York Times article. It was received with tremendous support with a message to not stigmatized solo mourning.
