Kate Middleton and Prince William recently lent their voice to narrate a poem dedicated to frontline workers.

Following their brief gig, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were praised for honoring the front liners once again.

However, some royal commentators couldn’t help but notice the double standards among critics.

After all, when Meghan Markle lent her voice for Disney’s documentary, Elephants, she was slammed by critics and some royal experts.

During their discussion on the Royal Rota, host Chris Ship said that it’s evident that there are inconsistencies between the reactions that the Cambridges and Markle received.

Ship said that a lot of people praised Prince William and Middleton. And they also told the royal couple that their voices are so nice so they can use them to make more money for charities.

“When Meghan was going to narrate stuff for Disney, everyone criticized her. When William and Kate narrated this video, they didn't,” he said

Ship’s co-host, Lizzie Robinson agreed with him. She also said that it’s possible the public applauded Prince William and Middleton because of their voice-over work as for front line workers.

However, Robinson backtracked a bit and said that Markle also lent her voice for a charity.

The co-host also pointed out that the public must have criticized Markle because of her ties to Hollywood.

As such, the public must have assumed that she lent her voice for the Disney documentary because she wanted to return to acting.

However, this isn’t the case. If Markle wanted to become an actress, she would’ve already signed deals to star in movies and television shows.

As of late, she and Prince Harry have only signed deals to produce shows for Netflix. They also signed a multi-year deal with Spotify.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that people noticed the double standards when it comes to the treatment of the Cambridges and the Sussexes.

Last month, Heat UK claimed that Prince Harry and Markle have been complaining about the double standard that they’re receiving from the public.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly upset with how the royal family concealed Prince William’s COVID-19 diagnosis.

Royal experts said that it was Prince William’s decision to not share the news and he was right to do so.

But when Prince Harry and Markle didn’t share the names of Archie’s godparents and details about his birth, they were slammed by their critics.
